You Say Press Release

Irish Screen Composer and Songwriter Niamh Ní Mheara Launches Solo Career as nvara With Lead Single “you say”

nvara is the new alias of Irish indie-folk songwriter, producer and award-winning screen composer Niamh Ní Mheara. Currently based in London, Ní Mheara has been an active performing artist in the Irish and UK circuit since the successful release of her first single “Living in Your Mind” in 2020. Having composed across a variety of genres and styles for film, musical theatre and art installations, the Irish songstress has felt an increasing desire to give her songwriting and artistry a space to evolve as its own entity, separate from her work as a composer. Skip to 2024 and nvara is ready to begin a new journey delving into more personal soundscapes once again.

Blending alternative folk and ambient cinematic sounds, nvara’s debut release  “you say” serves as a raw and vulnerable exhibit of the music the artist has been crafting in 2024. Originally written for the short film “Very Very Open” by London based director Isis Hope Llyod, “you say” portrays the passing of time after a relationship, musing through the different stages of nostalgia, loss and heartbreak through ethereal vocals and dreamy sonic landscapes.

The prospect of putting myself out there and releasing personal music again is slightly terrifying, but at the same time, I feel ready. It feels like I’m finally making the music I’ve always wanted to. “you say” is a song I would listen to and that makes me proud. Hopefully, other listeners will resonate with it too.” - nvara

“you say” is now available on all major streaming platforms.

This release marks the beginning of an exciting new era for nvara, promising more innovative and emotionally resonant music to come.
